Christmas Dinner is succesfully held at Kibo Huts (4,720m or 15,500ft) at 6:00pm on Christmas Day on Mount Kilimanjaro during a brief break in the terrible weather. Tom goes on, after a gruelling 8 hour night ascent, to have after dinner drinks at Gilman's Point at 5,681m or 18,638ft at 9:00am. The early weather on summit day was good but soon turned very nasty again with deep snow on the crater ridge! |
